What style should a winemaker aim to produce his/her wines? If the winemaker is not overly concerned about profits, he/she should make wine according to their own personal taste – then they are working all the time with much more passion and fun. There will always be people that would appreciate the many personal favourable styles of wine, and there’s a chance it would take off and sell big. Otherwise if they’re doing it seriously from a more business concerned angle, then 0 making wine to reflect it’s terroir/region – is perfect and honourable. If you’re just trying to make wine into a style that other people will like, then you’re missing out on a lot of what making wine has to offer. Wine by nature is not a people pleaser, it has its own personality.
